Sundered Doctrine
Hive/Dread dungeon set inside a Pyramid ship. Mechanics involve Darkness Lens beams, rotating symbol wheels, and Knowledge buffs. Familiarity with Vow of the Disciple and Dual Destiny symbols is required — the same symbol set appears throughout.
Encounter 1 — Solve the Riddle
Find and defeat a Truthspeaker enemy to reveal the missing third symbol that completes a logical statement displayed on the dungeon walls. Use Knowledge buffs from defeated Subjugators to aim Darkness Lens beams at the correct symbol wheels.
Pick up a Lens from a defeated Subjugator. Aim the Lens at a wall holster to lock it in, directing a light beam toward a symbol wheel. The beam must point at the symbol that matches your statement's missing piece. Requires 2–3 rounds of symbol activation to progress.
There is no timer on this encounter. Take time to read the statement on the wall, identify the Truthspeaker's revealed symbol, and position Lenses carefully. Wrong placements just reset, not wipe.
Shining a Lens beam on an incorrect symbol spawns a Tormentor. Kill it quickly and reassess the statement before trying again.
Tormentor wipe if your team cannot handle it — reset and get the symbols right the first time.
Encounter 2 — Unlock the Door
Rotate Darkness switch wheels to position glowing symbols, then collect Knowledge buffs in the correct quantity and deposit them to unlock the exit door.
Each wheel has a glowing symbol that rotates. You can shoot the crux above a wheel to change its rotation direction, or deposit Splinters (collected by holding 1–3 at a time) to advance the symbol position. Defeat Witches to collect Knowledge buffs (Heightened/Brimming/Overflowing based on how many Witches you kill). Match your Knowledge count to the target symbol position and deposit.
Run this in two phases — handle one wheel at a time to avoid confusion about which symbol belongs where. Extended phases are safer than rushing and depositing the wrong count.
Depositing the wrong Knowledge count locks the progression and requires a reset of that wheel. Count your Witch kills carefully.
No hard wipe mechanic, but incorrect deposits cost significant time and risk Tormentor spawns from nearby Subjugators.
Boss 1 — Zoetic Lockset
A mechanical construct composed of multiple Darkness Shriekers with four shared-health segments (four eyes). Each time you deal 25% damage, a new eye activates and Witches spawn.
Each wheel cycle gives you a symbol choice: "Hive" spawns Ogres, "Knowledge" spawns Wizard/Knight pairs, "Stop" halts spawns, "Kill" opens the damage window. Set Kill on one slab and Stop on the rest for maximum damage time.
Kill placement position matters — left position gives the longest damage window. Establish a Well of Radiance at the back of the room and use Linear Fusion Rifles or high-damage Supers. You can cheese standing near the boss entrance door to bypass add room enemies.
Each eye that activates adds more complexity to the wheel rotations. If you're slow clearing adds, the wheel timing gets very hard to manage.
After each damage phase, roll one of the destroyed boss eyes into the cavity at the back of the room to open the door and advance the encounter.
Boss 2 — Kerrev, The Erased (Final Boss)
A Strand-wreathed boss surrounded by false and true statements displayed across four rooms. Must use Stasis Scion knowledge buffs to break Strand threads before accessing DPS.
The wheel behind the boss displays symbols split into "true" and "false" statement halves. Light up all symbols making a false statement, turn off all symbols making a true statement. Use the Truthspeaker Grim (spawns during the fight) to confirm which side is true. Defeat Stasis Scions to gain Unwritten Empowerment, which lets you break Strand threads on the light sources across all four rooms.
Symbols are in four rooms — left, right, boss room, and below the boss. Divide the team: one handles boss room and below, one handles left room, one handles right room. Activate the deposit box to trigger the damage window after all symbols are correctly set.
The entire room starts burning during the DPS phase. Find and stay in the shadowy regions immediately — open areas will kill you. The boss also has Strand pull attacks; use pillars for cover.
Standing in the open during the burn phase — rapid death. Missing the boss's shield window by too long resets the symbol puzzle.
